Maks's Ballroom Birthday Bash

It's Maksim's birthday and how did he spend it? Well it wasn't a low key birthday, that's for sure! His friends and family through him a huge event in his honor showcasing many students he has inspired, friends/family dancers, and just pure talent. Last summer I had the pleasure to go to Dance With Me event for launching their dance studio here in NYC. It was so much fun, I couldn't wait to see the performances this time. Some of the professional dancers from DWTS were there, along with some past celebrity dancers, reality stars, and even a cake from Cake Boss. Seemed like Maks got all he could want for his birthday and more. In between performances friends, family members and some celebrities filmed special messages for him in his honor. It was very touching to see his history and where he comes from. You really got the sense that he's fun and very tightly connected to his family. Sometimes he can seem a little harsh on tv but it's just tough love :) At the end they present him with the cake made like a bust of his face lol. He admired the beauty. There was also a special thanks to an artist they met on Twitter for the painting she made that turned into the picture for the invite/program. I have to say it was a rather long party (4 hrs), but that didn't stop me from going to the after party! The after party was at W.I.P. It's a new club in the sub-basement of GreenHouse on Vandam. It reminded me of Gunbar actually. Maybe a little classier. The club was packed and who to my surprise was standing next to me…Hank Baskett! Yep, that's right Kendra's man lol. It's still crazy to me how you run into so many celebs randomly here. Entirely the opposite where I'm from…meaning you saw no one unless you went to their concert or something. Gotta love NYC, I just can't get enough!
