Next up, Daniel Silverstain! This was my first time seeing Silverstain's work and the more I looked at the collection, the more I wanted it in my closet. The collection had a wide range of color, which isn't typical for a fall/winter line. The below images are some of my fave looks from the show. I'm infatuated with the dark rich greens and blues; I'd wear them in a heartbeat (minus the bun, of course). The collection was simple yet complex and full of detail. You really have to stare and appreciate it piece for the beauty it holds.
More about the collection:
Inspired by personal travels to India, the Fall Winter 2015 Collection is influenced by the heritage and architecture of the Indian world, followed by a new interpretation of the modern era. Vibrant colors. Landscapes, textures and shapes combine together in clean geometric silhouettes, derived from one of the ancient architectural elements of the Indian culture – the Jaali. Jaali is the term for perforated stone or latticed screen, usually with an ornamental pattern constructed through the use of calligraphy and geometry. The collection focuses on the point of view of the “New Tourists” during the 1960’s, discovering India for the first time - juxtaposition between modern world and wild culture.
